Changing of the Guard Ceremony, Nassau the Bahamas

This is a little bit of pomp, pageantry and tradition left over from the days when the islands were part of the British Empire. Just as Buckingham Palace in England has its guards, so does Government House, the residence of the Governor General, personal representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. And just as they do in London, they change the guard at pre-set times. You can watch the ceremony at 10 am every other week in the Government House Grounds, Blue Hill Road, just five minutes from downtown Nassau. For specific dates, 242-322-2020.
