Love Beach New Providence Island Bahamas

Photograph of Love Beach New Providence Island BahamasLove Beach, on the north shore past Gambier Village, is the site of the world famous Compass Point Studios. It also happens to be a prime destination for snorkeling, although most folks never make the nine-mile trip from downtown Nassau. Technically, the beach is restricted to use by local residents, but it's virtually deserted most of the time so if you're respectful you won't encounter any problems.

With more than 40 acres of protected coral, botanical and tropical life just off shore, it's no wonder that Love Beach is so popular with the snorkeling crowd. If you don't snorkel, you can still enjoy the underwater delights of Love by taking a glass-bottom boat ride from Prince George's Wharf in the center of town; it will cost about $20, but it's money well spent. The beach is about nine miles west of downtown Nassau.
