Montague Beach Nassau Bahamas

Photo of Montague Beach Nassau bahamasMontague Beach lies southeast of Paradise Island and is the site of historic Fort Montague. It's a popular destination and generally busy, though not quite to the extent of Cable and Cabbage Beaches. Nassau's annual Valentine's Day Sailing Regatta is held here.

So, just to the east of Paradise Island you will find Fort Montague and Montague Beach. The historic fort was constructed in the 18th century to guard the eastern entrance to Nassau Harbor. The beach is not the best for swimming but local vendors sell fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables year-round, and that is worth taking the time to visit: be sure to try the fresh conch salad, or conch fritters.
